SIR – With reference to your report, “Discovery of neolithic rocks” (Feb 21), why is it that Cambrian Renewable Energy can continue to resume work on this wind farm site above Mynydd y Betws, after what is believed to be 5,000-year-old stones had been discovered?
What is even more disturbing is that these stones are thought to be part of an ancient “stone row”. I would consider that this discovery is surprisingly rare in 2012.
Research of our neolithic period of history remains very limited in Wales in comparison with Ireland, where their ancient history is considered sacred.
Neolithic research includes the whole topography of ancient sites within the area. Further excavations need to be carried out. Further artefacts may well be found.
It is also placing pressure upon archaeologists involved in the research, to depend on scientific dating techniques such as radiocarbon dates or archaeomagnetism of objects found at the site. There needs to be a whole settlement research.
I am sure that many other readers will agree with the campaigners who call for work to be halted in order for further archaeological work to continue at the site itself. Removing ancient stones, at this stage, can completely destroy valuable evidence related to the neolithic period of history.

All Windmill Sites, old and new and being planned must be gone over with a fine tooth comb to check out the situation re other archaelogical sites destroyed and threatened, then campaign on such asap. First off, Info is needed if England's Rescue can be so concerned why not a Welsh Rescue of our precious pre recorded history in the Landscape which Cadw and the RCAHMW are supposed to be taking care of. See below, call for a Welsh National Struggle against the Windmilling of Wales, if set up for sure I can think of three sub - Committees/groups needed to be part of this 1: Archaeology. 2: Battlesites. 3: SOBB - Save Our Birds and Bats. 4: Other? You suggest.

This I find atrocious, not least because Sian Ifan has done more to advance the Anti - Windmill Campaign in 'Cymraeg Circles' and fight against some 'Narrow Nationalists' oppinions that the Anti - Windmill Campaign is just a matter that concerns of, what they call 'White Settlers' and otherwise 'Green Colonists', if not plain and simple 'Enviromental Carpet Baggers'. MAP Powys, despite use of 'Cofia Dryweryn' when suits actually is more interested in joining with Mercia and England in their 'Anglo - Brit National Campaign' than seeking to advance a united Welsh National Campaign Against Renewables Robber Barons. Mind you, who can blame Powys when the rest of Cymru hardly rushes to support them, but then both Gwynedd and Dehuebarth for most of the Medieval Period totally dumped on Powys time and time again. So, time these two Gwledydd made amends and were more pro-active in supporting Powys but not MAP if it continues to flog the 'English Path' towards this NOW nonsense and is more concerned about petitoning and peddling distraction and diversion from where a National Welsh Campaign needs to focus on as the RENEWABLESUKcymru Conference in Caerdydd on the 2 May.

In particular, I argue for a Welsh National Movement/Platform/Campaign Against The Windmilling of Wales. The need for such is even now more urgent with the 'Anglo - Brit' NOW on the cards, do note that I am not opposed to working with such but we in Cymru/Wales must be 'Independant/Sovereign' in our own house aka Nation. I have just not the time and am not in a good place to organise such a Welsh National Movement, other than that I am not really qualified enough to be involved in such. This needs people as Terry Breverton, Ioan Richard and Lyn Jenkins who not only really know what they are talking about but have been active in this campaign longer than I. Plus would be more level headed in nature than I who often just rushes foward like a Bull at a Gate.
